Boys Basketball Dominant in Win Over ConVal
Hanover 55, ConVal 34
After coming off of a massive (67-31) win over Kingswood the night before, the Hanover boys came out ready to play again. They moved the ball well in the HHS gym and pulled off a steady win over the opposing Cougars.
Senior Martin Paulsen noted that defense was especially strong throughout the game. When opportunities arose, defensive guards were able to push the ball up into the attacking zone. Once Hanover had possession in the hands of quick shooters, they fired off shots and were able to complete them. Top scorers include senior Graham Penfield (16), senior Caleb Putnam (10), and sophomore Charlie Adams (9).
A momentum shift happened early on in the second half as the boys came out intense and energetic. Hanover took advantage of this and were able to stay relaxed and composed. The quick-footed home team was able to move fast and maintain control which continued on from the third quarter until the final buzzer.
Next up is an away match-up on Tuesday (1/23) night against a strong Merrimack Valley team (7-1-0). The boys are then back at home in a week on 1/29 against Pembroke (4-2-0) at 7 pm.
