Two Previously Discussed Bylaw Revisions Pass – Council Update (1/30/19)
This past week’s Council meeting was headlined by the passing of two bylaw revisions. Brought as notifications last week, both bylaw revisions seemed destined for success. The first, the Class Meeting Bylaw Revision passed easily and will standardize when class meetings must occur. Likewise, the CPP Leadership Position Bylaw Revision passed with little resistance. The only point brought up against the motion was made by Sophomore Rep. Ben Wagner, who commented that he wasn’t certain Council could require in the bylaws for the CPP Rep. to publish something in the Broadside as Broadside has no affiliation with Council. Nonetheless, the motion passed and a CPP Representative will be voted into office for the first time at the end of this year.
After these two bylaw revisions passed the schedule for Winter Carnival was quickly discussed. Sophomore Rep. Tom Lyons explained that for the most part Winter Carnival will be the same as last year with the only change being the addition of out of gym block activities. With that, the meeting was adjourned.
