The girls varsity soccer team ended their 2017 season with a difficult loss at last Thursday’s NHIAA Division II semifinal versus the 1st seeded Bow Falcons. The Marauders led 1-0 in the first half but was unable to regain the lead before Bow tied the game 1-1  in the second half. In an eerily similar fashion to the HHS boys’ quarterfinal loss to Pinkerton the week before, the game proceeded into two scoreless overtimes before Pinkerton won the game on penalty kicks (5-4). The HHS girls team closes the season with 14 wins, 3 losses, and 2 ties.

The boys and girls cross country teams ended their season at Mine Falls in Nashua, NH, after earning respective eighth and thirteenth place finishes in their races. While neither team reached the top-6-team cutoff for this Saturday’s New England Championships in Maine, junior Leila Trummel qualified to run in that meet as an individual.

The 4th seeded varsity football team pounded their way to this Saturday’s D-II semifinal following a 42-21 quarterfinal win against 5th seed Hollis-Brookline. The Marauders will now face 8th seeded Bow, who knocked Hanover High out of last year’s football playoffs, in the semifinal. Bow’s football team is hot off an upset win against Windham, the division’s first seed, so the semifinal should be a good game.
