Environmental and Outing Clubs Team Up to Organize Benefit Concert
By Natalie Copeland
The Environmental Club has been hosting an annual concert in January for the past couple of years in order to raise money to help the environment in our community. This year, the benefit concert will be hosted in conjunction with the Outing Club and will take place on January 20, the weekend after midterm exams, from 7pm to 10pm.
The two Hanover High School clubs have joined together to host this concert in order to give all of the proceeds to the Appalachian Mountain Club. This organization works to maintain the Appalachian Trail in the area, as well as shelters alongside the trail. It is a cause that encourages both outdoor activities and the preservation of the environment.
Logistics of the concert are still being decided, but it will take place at the school; in past years, it has been in the cafeteria. The music will feature many Hanover High School students and faculty. Food and Environmental Club t-shirts—which will be green with a tree and the words “Green Team” on the front—will be on sale during the concert. It will be an entertaining night and a great opportunity to support Hanover High School clubs as well as the Upper Valley.
