Join She’s the First

She’s the First is a nonprofit organization that sponsors girls’ education in developing nations. In some countries very few girls have the opportunity to study past elementary school, and this organization seeks to help girls to be the first in their families to graduate from secondary school. Girls who are educated are likely to marry later, bear fewer children, educate their own children, and be less vulnerable to sexual abuse along with sexually transmitted diseases. Help educate girls to end the cycle of poverty, and create sustainable change!

The STF chapter at HHS was formed in March 2014, and sponsored 3 girls in Nepal last year by raising $900 through a community movie night, bake sales and ice cream sundae sales.

This upcoming year we plan on hosting a variety of fundraisers, including participating in a cupcake bake-off week and holding bake sales, a pancake breakfast, and a 5K color run!
