Meet Becky French – Learning Strategies
by Jessica Buckey
Where were you this time last year? Home . I wasn’t working.
Why HHS? I’m in the third of four generations to graduate from HHS. My grandparents
and great uncles graduated in the 1920s. My children graduated in the ‘90s.
What would you most like students to know about you? I think I’d like them to
know about my history with the school. Ford Daley, Mr. Jenisch, and Mr. Murphy
were all here when I was, too.
What are your first impressions of HHS?
The building has changed a lot since when I was here. I went through elementary
through high school in this building. Bernice Ray was my principal and Frances
C. Richmond was a teacher at the school then. Still, the culture and attitude
haven’t changed. There’s still tremendous activity and sports involvement. I think
there are more activities which aren’t sports now, which I think is cool.
What is your favorite extracurricular activity, book, or quote?
I’m a huge football fan. My favorite books are the Outlanders series, by Diana
Gabaldon. My favorite quote would be: “Lack of planning on your part does not
constitute an emergency on mine.”
