Upcoming Underclass Dance
The 2015 Class Committee has formalized the plans for a December dance. Their plan for, fun and fundraising, is to throw an underclass-only dance. The date for the dance is set for Saturday, Dec. 6th from 7:30 to10:30.
“Now the Sophomores and Freshmen can have their equivalent of the Holiday Dance,” Alexi Kim, a class committee member, explained. This dance, sponsored by Circle Up, an anti-drug alliance of parents and police, will be strictly sober. The Class of 2015 loses half of it’s profit by limiting the dance to underclassmen, but the school administration is not willing to allow Juniors and Seniors at a school sanctioned dance until they have shown themselves responsible enough. Hanover High has a history of unruly upperclass behavior at dances; like our fellow New Hampshirites at Keene State, we have gotten carried away
“The dress, while not formal,” Karen Wahrenburger, advisor to the 2015 Class Committee, explained to me, “will be celebratory and nice.” A group of 2015 students, including Konrad Mitchell and myself, will be Disc Jockeying the festivities. The music selection will be a variety of club, house, hip-hop, and trap music. This dance will offer a sober and safe environment for underclassmen to drop their moves; Sophomores and Freshman should mark the date!
